Pterygium

The Pterygium or "flesh" is common in people living in warm climates, have an inherited tendency, progressive, tends to grow and "get" the center of the eye, and sometimes causes obstruction in vision.

The symptomatology is presented as "reddish eye", a feeling of garbage, burning, tearing, and the "bulge" of the "flesh".

Medical treatment is regularly and only in advanced cases is the surgical treatment, as is high possibility of recurrence (regrow) most likely in young people.

We have several surgical techniques to reduce the chance of recurrence, such as placement of conjunctival flaps in the area of resection and in some cases, amniotic membrane, which is taken from placentas and preserved.

If by car, take the second exit (before you go up the bridge), you will see our sign, just past the yellow cab station.  Park in the front of the building.
